USAID Announces Youth-Focused HIV/AIDS Programs in Ethiopia

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded a $500,000 grant to the YMCA of the USA to combat HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia. The program will provide youth access to basic HIV prevention education and vital medical services and improve existing care and prevention programs in five underserved communities in the cities of Addis Ababa and Adama.

USAID Provides Additional $4 Million for Sudan Humanitarian Flights

The U.S. Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is providing an additional $4 million to the UN Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS) in Sudan. This brings the total United States contribution to UNHAS in Sudan to $7.2 million in fiscal year 2008.
